A burst of spontaneous applause erupted from the back of the ballroom, quickly spreading through the entire crowd. Thomas sank into a nearby chair, completely ruined. Catherine was escorted out by the very security she had called on Audrey. Walking out of the ballroom side-by-side with Admiral Vance, Audrey felt a profound sense of peace.
