They Exposed My Scars to Humiliate Me, but Didn't Know My True Identity
Previously: When Catherine publicly ripped open Audrey's dress to expose her severe scars at a high-society gala, she expected total humiliation. Instead, she unleashed a secret that would ruin her own family.
A Hero's Justice
Thomas looked as if he might faint. His entire real estate empire was built on the prestige of this grand estate, and now, the woman his family had humiliated held the deed to it all. Catherine frantically tried to grab Audrey’s hand, her voice shaking.
"Audrey, please, it was just a joke! We didn't mean any harm!"she begged, tears of panic spilling over her expensive makeup.
Julian took a step closer, trying to look apologetic.
"Audrey, we can fix this. We can be together again. I never stopped loving you,"he lied, hoping to save his family's fortune. Audrey looked at Julian, then at Catherine, and finally at Thomas. For years, she had carried the physical and emotional pain of her service in silence, while they lived in luxury off her family's land.

She pulled her torn blouse together, standing tall with her head held high. "My scars are not a source of shame," Audrey said, her voice steady and clear. "They are a badge of honor. And I will no longer allow people like you to trample on the sacrifices of others."
She turned to Admiral Vance.
"Admiral, please contact my attorneys. We are terminating the lease immediately. I want this estate converted into a rehabilitation and housing center for wounded veterans."
A burst of spontaneous applause erupted from the back of the ballroom, quickly spreading through the entire crowd. Thomas sank into a nearby chair, completely ruined. Catherine was escorted out by the very security she had called on Audrey. Walking out of the ballroom side-by-side with Admiral Vance, Audrey felt a profound sense of peace. Her scars had been exposed to humiliate her, but in the end, they became the very key to her second chance at life and a legacy of true honor.
