The Gilded Fork was the kind of restaurant where the wealthy paid for privacy as much as the food. Inside the dimly lit, oak-paneled dining room, Julian Vance sat in his custom navy blue designer suit, staring blankly at his untouched steak. Once a giant of the city's real estate market, a tragic car accident three years ago had shattered his spine, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. He had traded his boardroom battles for a quiet corner of isolation, nursing a bitter resentment toward a world that kept moving while he remained stationary.

His silence was shattered when a commotion erupted near the entrance. A young, dirty-faced boy in a ripped flannel shirt and worn-out sneakers had slipped past the tight security. The head waiter was already reaching for the boy's collar when Julian raised a hand. Intrigued and slightly amused by the sheer audacity of the intrusion, Julian signaled for the boy to be brought to his table.

"What do you want, boy?" Julian asked, his voice dripping with aristocratic skepticism.

The boy, whose name was Cole, didn't look intimidated by the luxury surrounding him. He looked directly at Julian's useless legs, his eyes filled with a strange, deep-seated earnestness.

"Sir, can I heal your legs?" Cole asked softly.

Julian let out a harsh, incredulous chuckle. He gestured mockingly at his custom wheelchair. To him, this was either a cruel joke or a desperate bid for a handout.

"You? If you make me walk, I'll give you a million dollars," Julian sneered, confident in the impossibility of the offer.

Without a word, Cole stepped closer. He bypassed the guard and placed his small, dirt-stained hands firmly onto Julian's knees. Julian scoffed, leaning back in his seat.

"This is ridiculous," Julian muttered, preparing to call security to throw the child out.

But Cole looked up calmly, his gaze locking onto Julian's bitter eyes.

"Trust me," Cole said.

Before Julian could reply, a sudden shockwave of intense heat surged from the boy's palms. It rippled through Julian's knees, traveling up his thighs and down to his cold, lifeless toes. Julian's eyes widened in sudden shock, and a sharp gasp escaped his throat as he gripped the armrests.

"What did you do to me?" Julian whispered in complete disbelief.

Julian whispered in complete disbelief.
