Previously: When Clara confessed to a hit-and-run to protect Leo, she thought she was saving his future. She had no idea his powerful father had set a deadly trap.

The Mask of Power Slips

The courtroom dissolved into utter chaos. The judge banged his gavel repeatedly, his face flushed with anger. "Order in the court! Silence, or I will have this room cleared!" he bellowed. But the spark had already been lit. Arthur turned back to the bench, his polished demeanor instantly returning as he looked at the judge with a practiced, apologetic smile.

"Your Honor, please excuse my son," Arthur said, his voice smooth and convincing. "He has been under immense psychological stress. He is not in his right mind, and his outbursts are completely unfounded."

Leo looked at his father, disgusted by how easily the man could lie to save his own skin. He pulled a small, silver flash drive from his pocket and held it high above his head for everyone to see.

"I am not crazy!" Leo shouted, his voice ringing with absolute certainty. "I have the security footage from my father's private study. It contains his confession from the night of the hit-and-run! He was the one driving the car, not Clara!"

The revelation hit the courtroom like a physical blow. Clara gasped, her hands falling from her face as she stared at Arthur in realization. The web of lies that had trapped her was finally unraveling. She had believed Arthur when he told her that Leo was the driver, that Leo's fingerprints were on the steering wheel, and that only her confession could save the boy she cared for like a brother. Now, she realized she had been nothing but a pawn in a billionaire's sick game.

Arthur’s face turned pale, the veins in his neck bulging as he realized his perfect alibi was crumbling. He signaled to his private security guards standing near the back of the room, whispering a hushed command to drag Leo out. But the judge, sensing the gravity of the situation, raised his hand to stop them.

"Bring that flash drive to the bench," the judge ordered, his eyes locked onto Arthur with growing suspicion. "Let us see what is on this recording."
