Previously: When Lieutenant Avery Vale is forced to strip off her jacket in front of her entire platoon, a shocking secret on her back exposes a massive military conspiracy.

As the shouting of the soldiers reached a deafening crescendo, two MPs stepped forward, heavy steel handcuffs glinting in the harsh desert light. Avery did not flinch. She stood tall, the wolf tattoo on her back gleaming under the sun like a shield of honor.

The Truth Unleashed

"You think you’ve caught a traitor, Commander," Avery said, her voice cutting through the noise with absolute authority. "But the only traitors here are standing on that balcony and wearing stars on their collars."

Vance froze, his hand hovering over his holster. The platoon’s chanting faltered, dying down to a tense, expectant silence. Up on the balcony, General Briggs’s face flushed a dangerous shade of crimson.

"Silence her immediately!" Briggs roared, leaning heavily over the railing. "She is dishonoring the uniform!"
"My father, Colonel Marcus Vale, wore this uniform with honor!" Avery shouted back, her voice echoing across the courtyard. "The Shadow Wolves didn't abandon their post in the Valley of Death. They were betrayed. Their coordinates were sold to the enemy to cover up a multimillion-dollar weapons smuggling ring run right here out of Camp Blackwood!"

A wave of shocked murmurs swept through the platoon. The soldiers looked at one another, confusion and doubt replacing their anger. Vance’s eyes widened with a mixture of rage and panic.

"You’re lying," Vance hissed, stepping closer and reaching for his sidearm. "Your father was a coward, and you’re a fraud."
"I have the proof," Avery declared, reaching slowly into her pocket.

She pulled out a pair of worn, silver dog tags. The metal was scratched and dented, but inside the hollowed-out casing was a tiny, modern micro-SD card.

"These are my father's tags," Avery said, holding them high for the entire platoon to see. "Inside is the decrypted satellite data and the audio logs from the night of the ambush. It contains General Briggs's voice authorizing the coordinate transfer to the insurgents."

Vance’s face went pale. Realizing his entire career, his freedom, and his life were about to unravel, he drew his service pistol and pointed it directly at Avery’s chest.
