Within minutes, the heavy oak doors of the ballroom opened, and several police officers marched inside. Gabriel had already provided the district attorney with irrefutable evidence of grand larceny, corporate fraud, and embezzlement. As the handcuffs clicked around Julian's and Elena's wrists, the crowd watched in stunned silence. Elena wept openly, begging Gabriel for forgiveness, but he simply turned his back on her.

He turned to the crowd and the board of directors.

"Effective immediately, Maya is being appointed as the co-director of the Vance Charitable Foundation. She will have a full scholarship to finish her business degree, and a permanent seat at my side."

Tears of joy streamed down Maya's face as the ballroom erupted into thunderous applause. Gabriel had not only reclaimed his life and his empire, but he had also found the one thing money could never buy: true loyalty and love.
