Previously: When Melissa discovered her business partners were secretly cutting her out of a five-million-dollar tech contract, the boardroom became a battlefield of lies, greed, and ultimate betrayal.

A Double-Cross Revealed

The security guards dragged Melissa out of the building, leaving her bruised and breathless on the wet pavement outside. She sat in her car, her hands still shaking, when her phone buzzed with an anonymous text. It contained an encrypted PDF—a secret side-letter between Christopher and the Vanguard CEO. Christopher was planning to dilute Amanda's shares to almost nothing immediately after the merger, pocketing nearly the entire five million dollars himself.

Melissa stared at the document. Amanda had betrayed her, but Christopher was playing a far more sinister game. He was wiping them both out. Armed with this devastating evidence, Melissa waited in the dark parking garage. When Amanda finally walked out, looking pale and defeated, Melissa stepped into her path.

"Get away from me, Melissa!" Amanda cried, backing away. "You're out of the company. It's over!"

"Look at this," Melissa said, thrusting her phone forward. "Look at what your partner in crime did the moment my back was turned."

Amanda hesitated, then snatched the phone. As she read the terms of the side-deal, the color completely drained from her face. She stumbled back against a concrete pillar, tears welling in her eyes. "No... Christopher promised we were in this together. He wouldn't do this to me."

"He did," Melissa said flatly. "He used me to build the tech, he used you to forge my signature, and now he’s discarding you. We have twelve hours before the final contracts are locked in. We can either destroy each other, or we can destroy him."

Amanda looked up, her expression shifting from heartbreak to a cold, burning resolve. She wiped her tears and nodded. "What do we do?"
