The Forgotten Boy Who Pulled the Legendary Blade and Defied a Kingdom
The Legend of the Gorge
The air in the narrow stone canyon was thick with a damp, clinging fog that muffled the sounds of the marching men. For generations, the gorge of the Ancients had remained a place of myth, guarded by steep cliffs and whispered warnings. At its heart lay a massive, cracked boulder, and driven deep into the stone was a legendary sword. Many had tried to claim it, but the blade remained unmoved, waiting for a true leader. Today, the kingdom's most celebrated warrior, a hulking champion named Borin, intended to end the legend once and for all.
Borin, clad in dark, heavy plate armor that bore the scars of a hundred battles, stepped up to the stone. His broad chest rose and fell with confident breaths. He scoffed at the ancient runes carved into the rock, believing that only raw, physical strength could conquer the blade. Gripping the leather-wrapped hilt, he braced his boots against the earth and pulled. The muscles in his massive arms strained to the point of trembling, his face turning a deep, furious red as he roared with exertion. Yet, despite his monumental effort, the sword did not budge even a fraction of an inch.

Defeated and humiliated, Borin let go of the hilt, panting heavily. He turned back to his elite knights, trying to mask his failure with a bitter sneer.
"If I couldn't pull it out, no one can,"he grumbled, gesturing for his men to pack their gear. But as the knights began to turn away, a small figure stepped forward from the rear of the baggage train. It was Arthur, a dirt-smudged youth in a ragged brown tunic, whose only job had been to carry the water skins. The giant warriors laughed as the boy approached the boulder, but Arthur did not look back. He stood before the hilt, his messy blonde hair damp with fog, and whispered,
"I am Arthur. And I am going to claim you."With absolute resolve, his grimy hand closed tightly around the hilt.
