They Framed Me and Took My K9s—But the Dogs Never Forgot Their Real Trainer
Previously: When Lauren was wrongfully imprisoned, they took her elite K9 unit. But when they tried using her dogs against her, the beasts made a shocking choice.
The silence on the wet asphalt was deafening, broken only by the low, warning growls of the K9s. Edward lowered his baton, his bravado completely shattered. He knew Lauren wasn't the type to make empty threats. She had built the department's entire digital infrastructure for the K9 division.
Justice Unleashed
But before Edward could formulate a lie, a voice boomed from the entrance of the yard.

"She isn't bluffing, Edward. And you don't have to wait until tomorrow."
The warden walked out into the rain, flanked by two federal agents. Behind them stood the Chief of Police himself. Lauren felt a wave of relief wash over her. She hadn't actually set an automatic timer—but she had sent a coded message to a trusted contact in the federal prosecutor's office weeks ago, detailing where the digital ledger was hidden. The feds had just finished decrypting it.
The Chief looked at the four dogs, who were still standing proudly around Lauren, then at Edward's drawn weapon.
"Drop the baton, Edward," the Chief ordered sternly. "Federal agents have already searched Captain Vance's private residence. We found the missing evidence. Your little game is over."
King immediately threw his hands up.
"I didn't have anything to do with the theft!" King blurted out. "It was all Edward and Vance! I'll tell you everything!"
Edward was handcuffed on the very asphalt where he had tried to humiliate Lauren. As he was led away, the federal agents approached Lauren with a set of keys, unlocking her handcuffs. The four K9s immediately erupted into joyful barks, jumping up to lick her face and hands.
The Chief walked up to Lauren, his expression filled with deep regret.
"We owe you a massive apology, Lauren," he said. "Your record will be completely expunged, and your position as head of the K9 division is waiting for you, if you'll have it."
Lauren looked down at her loyal dogs, who were waiting eagerly for her next command. She smiled, the weight of the last six months finally lifting from her shoulders.
"I'll take the job," Lauren said quietly, "but only if my team stays exactly where they belong—by my side."
True loyalty cannot be bought, forced, or stolen; it is earned through love, and it will always find its way back to those who deserve it.
