Previously: When Tyson, the prison's most feared giant, cornered Tara in the concrete yard, everyone expected her to break. Instead, she stood her ground, harboring a secret that would change everything.

The Ultimate Alliance

The tension in the yard was suffocating. Tyson stood between the corrupt prison authorities who ruled his daily life and the woman who had saved his little brother's life. The guards in the watchtowers gripped their rifles, waiting for Tyson to make his move. Warden Vance raised his radio.

"Do it, Tyson. Or you’ll spend the rest of your life in solitary,"
the warden threatened over the PA system.

Tyson looked at the warden, then turned back to Tara. Slowly, a dark grin spread across the giant's face. He didn't attack her. Instead, he stepped in front of her, his massive body acting as a human shield.

"If you want her, Warden, you'll have to go through me,"
Tyson bellowed, his voice echoing across the yard. The other inmates, inspired by Tyson's defiance, began to close ranks around them, forming a wall of orange jumpsuits.

Before the warden could order his guards to fire, the heavy outer gates of the prison erupted. A convoy of black federal SUVs tore into the yard, sirens wailing. Armed FBI agents spilled out, led by a federal prosecutor. Tara hadn't just been sent to prison; she had gone undercover voluntarily, wearing a hidden wire to capture the warden's confession of taking bribes from Detective Miller to eliminate state witnesses.

Warden Vance dropped his radio in horror as federal agents handcuffed him on the spot. Detective Miller was arrested at his precinct mere minutes later. Tara looked up at Tyson, offering a genuine smile as she was handed her badge and civilian clothes. She promised to testify at Tyson's upcoming parole hearing, ensuring he would soon return home to his little brother. True strength isn't measured by the size of your fists, but by the loyalty of your heart to those who stood for you when you couldn't stand yourself.
