Previously: When towering inmate Silas tried to humiliate Clara in the sun-bleached prison yard, he didn't know she had entered the facility voluntarily—with a lethal set of skills and a score to settle.

Justice Served Cold

Silas charged with a desperate, wild swing of his steel blade, but Clara was already moving. She stepped into his blind spot, swept his legs from underneath him, and pinned him to the scorching concrete. Before Silas could recover, Clara had his own blade pressed firmly against his throat, her knee pinning his chest down.

The guards surrounded them, their weapons drawn, but the warden, a stern man named Miller, raised his hand to halt them. He had been watching from the control tower, and he knew exactly who Clara was.

"It’s over, Silas," Clara whispered, her voice deadly quiet. "You took my brother’s life, but you won't take anyone else's."

Clara reached into her pocket and pulled out a small, waterproof micro-drive she had managed to smuggle in—containing complete, undeniable evidence of Silas's criminal operations inside the prison, as well as the names of the corrupt guards who had helped him frame her brother. She tossed the drive at Warden Miller’s feet.

"That contains everything you need to shut down his network forever, Warden," Clara said, her voice steady. "My mission is complete."

The warden picked up the drive, looking at Silas with cold disdain. He nodded to the guards. "Take Silas to maximum security solitary. He won't be seeing the sun for a very long time." As the guards dragged the screaming, ruined kingpin away, the remaining inmates parted in absolute silence, watching Clara with newfound, immense respect.

Clara stood tall in the center of the yard, the heavy burden of grief finally lifting from her shoulders. She had risked everything, entering the lion's den to face a monster, and she had emerged victorious. Justice had finally been served, proving that true strength is not measured by size, but by an unwavering resolve to fight for the truth.
