Previously: When Diane visited her late son's grave on a foggy afternoon, she expected solitude. Instead, she found a young woman sobbing in the dirt, cradling a newborn baby who looked exactly like him.

A Voice from the Past

The next morning, Richard called a tense meeting in the library, flanked by his personal attorneys. He was prepared to force Claire to sign an agreement surrendering all parental rights in exchange for a meager settlement, threatening a brutal custody battle otherwise. Diane sat in the corner, torn between her love for her new grandson and the fierce loyalty she felt toward her eldest son's warnings. Claire clutched her baby tight, her heart hammering against her ribs as she prepared for the worst.

Just as Richard’s lawyer began to present the harsh legal documents, the heavy oak doors of the library swung open. Arthur Pendelton, Julian’s personal attorney and lifelong friend, walked into the room. He carried a sealed black portfolio. Richard frowned, demanding to know why he was there.

"I am here to execute Julian’s final, private wishes,"

Arthur said calmly, ignoring Richard's protests. He opened the portfolio and pulled out a certified document along with a video tablet. Arthur pressed play, and Julian's face appeared on the screen, recorded just weeks before his tragic accident.

In the video, Julian spoke directly to his mother and brother. He revealed that he knew how Richard would react if anything ever happened to him. He officially declared Claire as his fiancée and legally recognized the unborn child as his sole heir, backed by pre-natal DNA records he had quietly filed with Arthur. Julian’s voice was firm as he stated that if Richard ever attempted to contest the child's legitimacy, Richard would be entirely disinherited from the family estate.

The room went dead silent. Richard’s face drained of color as his own lawyers whispered that the document was completely airtight. Diane wept, realizing how deeply Julian had loved Claire and how wisely he had protected his new family. She stood up, walked past a defeated Richard, and wrapped her arms around Claire and the baby.

Through love and foresight, Julian had protected his family from beyond the grave, ensuring his son would grow up cherished, secure, and surrounded by love.

The End
