My Groom Mocked Me When I Fell, So My Lawyer Walked In
Previously: When Ashley fell off her chair at her own wedding reception, her groom and mother-in-law mocked her. But their laughter turned to absolute terror when her lawyer walked through the double doors.
A Devastating Revelation
The sudden entrance of Richard, a high-profile attorney known for dismantling corrupt empires, sent a wave of uneasy silence through the banquet hall. Christopher’s laughter died instantly. He stood up, smoothing his jacket, trying to maintain his composure.
"What is the meaning of this, Ashley? Who is this man, and why is he interrupting our wedding?"he demanded, his voice cracking slightly.
Ashley stood up from the floor, refusing any help from the bridesmaids who had finally rushed over. She dusted off her gown and stood tall, looking directly at her husband.
"He is not interrupting our wedding, Christopher. He is here to finalize my departure,"she said calmly.

Richard stepped forward, placing his heavy briefcase on the head table, right next to the discarded diamond ring. He popped the latches open and pulled out a stack of certified legal documents. Patricia stepped forward, her face pale with fury.
"This is absurd! You are embarrassing our family in front of our esteemed guests!"she hissed.
Richard did not flinch. He handed a document directly to Patricia.
"Mrs. Sterling, these are the foreclosure notices for your family’s estate and your primary business assets. My client, Ashley, is the sole trustee of the investment firm that holds your ten-million-dollar debt. Due to your breach of contract and financial fraud, we are recalling the loan immediately,"he announced.
Christopher gasped, looking from his mother to Richard.
"What? That's impossible! Ashley doesn't have that kind of money!"he yelled. Richard then handed Christopher a second folder filled with photographs and bank statements.
"Furthermore, we have documented proof of your ongoing affair with your assistant, as well as the embezzlement of trust funds to finance this very wedding. The prenuptial agreement you forced Ashley to sign is officially null and void due to fraud."
