Marcus Hayes walked through the bustling concrete transit station, his mind focused entirely on the reunion awaiting him at home. After a grueling ten-month deployment at sea, the United States Navy Lieutenant was eager to see his daughter’s face when he surprised her for her tenth birthday. He wore his immaculate dress whites, a symbol of the dedication and sacrifice he had poured into his service. But his peaceful journey was violently interrupted.

Without warning, a rough hand grabbed his shoulder, spinning him around. Before Marcus could react, he was shoved hard against a concrete pillar. The aggressor was Arthur, a stern, bald security guard in a dark blue uniform.

"Fake uniform!" Arthur shouted, his voice echoing off the concrete walls. "Here, we take impersonating military personnel very seriously."

A crowd quickly gathered, sensing a public spectacle. Phones were whipped out, lenses focusing on Marcus’s stunned face. Marcus calmly reached into his pocket to retrieve his active military ID.

"Officer, I suggest you take a step back and look at my identification," Marcus said, his voice steady.

Instead of looking, Arthur slapped the ID out of Marcus's hand. It skittered across the dusty floor. Arthur sneered, claiming the ID was a cheap counterfeit. He boasted to the crowd that he was calling the real police to arrest this fraud.

But before Arthur could reach for his handcuffs, the station’s PA system crackled to life. A booming, authoritative voice echoed through the terminal.
