A Guard Humiliated Me as a Fake Soldier Until the Intercom Revealed the Truth
Previously: When a bitter transit guard publicly accused Lieutenant Marcus Hayes of wearing a fake Navy uniform, he expected a humiliation. Instead, a sudden intercom announcement turned the tables completely.
The silence in the terminal was deafening. Thomas slowly lowered his hand from Marcus’s uniform, his fingers trembling slightly as the reality of the intercom announcement set in. The commuters who had been whispering a moment ago now stared at Thomas with disapproval and shock.
But instead of apologizing, Thomas’s embarrassment quickly turned into desperate panic. He knew that assaulting an active-duty naval officer in a public terminal could cost him his job, his pension, and potentially land him in federal custody.

The Bitter Truth
"This... this must be a mistake," Thomas stammered, trying to maintain his authority. "You probably stole that ID, too. You aren't going anywhere until my supervisor clears this."
Marcus looked down at the guard’s hand, which was still hovering near his chest.
"I suggest you step back, officer," Marcus said, his voice low and steady, carrying the weight of command. "You have already committed a serious offense. Do not make it worse."
The truth was, Thomas’s hostility wasn't accidental. Two years prior, Thomas’s own son had been dishonorably discharged from the Navy for insubordination. Unable to accept his son’s failure, Thomas had projected his bitterness onto every military member he encountered, convinced they were all corrupt or fraudulent. Seeing Marcus—young, decorated, and proud—had triggered a deep-seated resentment he couldn't control.
Desperate to save face, Thomas grabbed his radio."Code four at the main pillar! I have a suspect resisting detention, possibly armed and posing as military!" Thomas lied into the receiver, his voice cracking with anxiety.
Within seconds, two more transit officers sprinted down the corridor, their hands resting on their utility belts. They flanked Marcus, looking confused but ready to intervene. The crowd backed away further, sensing a dangerous escalation. Marcus stood his ground, knowing that his official escort—a high-ranking Rear Admiral—was waiting just beyond the security gates for an official diplomatic debriefing. If he was delayed or arrested under false pretenses, the consequences would reach far beyond this tiled station.
