"I spoke to your supervisor this morning," Marcus continued, offering a small, compassionate smile. "I told him I wouldn't press charges, and that I believe you deserve to keep your job, on one condition. You need to talk to someone about your grief. Don't let it turn you into a bitter man."

Thomas broke down, nodding sob after sob as a decade of heavy, silent sorrow finally washed away. He shook Marcus's hand, a gesture of profound gratitude that words could never fully express.
