A Wealthy Heiress Humiliated Me for My Scars, but My General Changed Everything
Previously: When high-society snobs tried to humiliate Elena for the deep scars on her back, they had no idea who she really was—until a highly decorated general stepped forward to reveal the truth.
The threat of losing the military contracts sent panic through Richard. His family's entire empire relied on those government deals. He turned to Evelyn, his anger boiling over.
"This is all your fault!" Richard shouted at her, his voice cracking. "Get out of my sight!"Evelyn, humiliated and abandoned by her wealthy peers, burst into tears and fled the ballroom, the sound of her heels clicking loudly against the marble.
Richard turned back to Elena, literally falling to his knees.
"Elena, please, talk to the General. You can't let them ruin my family. I love you!" he begged.

A New Beginning
Elena looked down at him, feeling no anger, only a profound sense of freedom. The secret she had hidden for so long was finally out, and she no longer had to feel ashamed of the battle scars she bore. She adjusted the General’s heavy coat around her shoulders and looked Richard dead in the eye.
"You didn't love me, Richard. You loved the idea of an obedient wife who would make you look good," Elena said softly but firmly. "My scars are a symbol of my strength. And I will never let anyone make me feel ashamed of them again."
Turning her back on the pleading businessman and the stunned high-society crowd, Elena walked side-by-side with General Vance out of the ballroom. The heavy oak doors closed behind them, shutting out the shallow world she had outgrown. Outside, the cool night air felt incredibly refreshing. Elena looked up at the stars, a genuine smile finally gracing her lips. She was no longer hiding; she was finally free to live her life with the honor and respect she had rightfully earned.
True honor cannot be bought with wealth or status; it is forged in sacrifice and revealed in the courage to stand tall.
