Previously: When Clara offered a pastry to a wealthy businessman on a cold rainy day, she never expected a single bite would uncover a dark thirty-year-old family secret.

A Web of Decades-Old Lies

Before Thomas could process the earth-shattering revelation, Sarah stepped between them, her eyes flashing with hostility.

"Thomas, don't listen to her,"
she snapped, grabbing his arm.
"She’s just a delusional street vendor looking for a handout. This is a scam."

But Thomas shook her off, his eyes locked onto Clara.

"My mother died when I was a baby,"
he said, his voice trembling as he searched Clara's face.
"My father told me she left us because she didn't want the burden of a child. He has her death certificate."

Clara felt a sharp pain in her chest.

"Arthur lied to you,"
she cried, the name tasting like poison on her tongue.
"He was a powerful, cruel man. He stole you from your crib in the middle of the night and told me you died of a sudden fever. He showed me a fake death certificate and had his security guards throw me into the street. I spent thirty years mourning a son who was alive this whole time!"

Thomas staggered backward, the foundations of his entire life crumbling. He knew his father, Arthur, was a ruthless billionaire who controlled everything and everyone. Deep down, a terrifying realization began to take root: his father was entirely capable of such cruelty.

Suddenly, the screech of tires echoed through the wet alleyway. A sleek, black luxury sedan pulled up to the curb. The tinted rear window rolled down slowly, revealing the stern, aristocratic face of Arthur. Though aged, his eyes still held the same cold, calculating malice that had haunted Clara’s nightmares for thirty years.

Arthur took one look at Clara, then at the tattered photograph in Thomas's trembling hands. His face twisted into a mask of pure fury.

"Thomas, get in the car immediately,"
Arthur commanded, his voice cold and commanding.
"Do not associate with this trash. Security, dispose of that wooden cart."

Two burly men in suits stepped out of the vehicle, moving toward Clara's livelihood. Thomas stood frozen, caught between the terrifying authority of the father who raised him and the weeping mother who had just risen from the dead.
