Previously: Arthur thought he had secured his place at the top of the social ladder, but a shocking revelation at an exclusive rooftop gala leaves him completely ruined and begging for mercy.

Arthur spent the entire night pacing his empty apartment, the weight of the decision pressing down on his chest. He looked at the photos of him and Sienna during happier times. Despite her betrayal on the rooftop, he knew why she had done it—she believed she was protecting her family and her friends from a monster. If he destroyed her family to save himself, he would become the very monster she believed him to be.

As dawn began to break over the city, Arthur made his decision. He called Richard back.

"I won't do it," Arthur said firmly. "I won't destroy Sienna's family to save my own skin. Do whatever you want with the logs."

He hung up before Richard could reply. Arthur felt a strange sense of peace. He decided to face his peers one last time, not as a beggar, but as a man ready to accept his fate. He arranged an urgent meeting at the firm's headquarters. When he walked into the boardroom, Sienna, Clara, and the rest of the board were already waiting, flanked by lawyers.

A Sacrifice of Truth

Before anyone could speak, Arthur laid his own phone on the table. He played the recorded conversation with Richard from the night before. The room fell dead silent as Richard’s voice echoed through the speakers, detailing the entire frame-up and demanding the keys to Sienna's family trust in exchange for Arthur's freedom. They heard Arthur's definitive refusal to betray Sienna, even at the cost of his own future.

Sienna’s eyes widened in shock, tears welling up as she realized the sacrifice Arthur had made for her. Clara slowly closed her legal pad, the anger draining from her face. The truth was finally out. Arthur had not only proven his innocence, but he had also protected the very people who had cast him out into the cold.

Sienna stood up, her voice trembling as she looked at him. "Arthur... I am so sorry. We should have trusted you." Arthur offered a sad, gentle smile. He had saved his reputation, but more importantly, he had saved his integrity. In the end, true loyalty isn't about never falling; it is about choosing to protect the ones you love, even when they are the ones holding the stones.
