Previously: When Lieutenant Sarah Vale was ordered to strip off her uniform in front of her entire platoon, she knew it was a setup—but her hidden tattoo turned the tables.

The Accusation

Colonel Sterling stared down from the balcony, his face pale, his hands gripping the railing. The howling wolf was a symbol they all recognized, but for very different reasons. To the brass, it was the mark of the Grey Wolves, a legendary black-ops unit that had supposedly gone rogue years ago.

"Arrest her immediately!" Vance ordered, his voice trembling with a mixture of rage and fear. "That tattoo is proof of her affiliation with a treasonous organization. She is a spy!"

Two military police officers rushed forward, grabbing Sarah’s arms and forcing them behind her back. The soldiers in the platoon watched in stunned silence, realizing the chant they had been forced into was part of a coordinated trap to destroy her career.

Sarah didn't struggle. Instead, she looked directly at Vance, a cold, knowing smile on her lips. She knew exactly what they were trying to do. They had spent months searching her quarters, desperate to find the encrypted drive she had smuggled out of the Pentagon—a drive containing proof that Vance and Sterling had embezzled millions and left her father’s unit to die in an ambush.

"You think this tattoo proves my treason, Commander?" Sarah asked, her voice calm and steady despite the tight grip of the MPs. "Or are you just terrified of what the wolf actually represents?"

Vance stepped closer, his eyes narrowing in fury. "Your father was a traitor, Lieutenant, and you are going to share his fate. You will rot in a military prison where no one can hear you."

But Sarah’s smile only widened. She leaned in, whispering so only he could hear.

"My father didn't go rogue, Vance. You sold his coordinates to the enemy. And right now, the entire Pentagon is listening to you admit it."
