Previously: After a brutal confrontation in the delivery room over a DNA test, Jessica's estranged father steps in to protect her, leading to a shocking revelation that ruins her husband.

A Sweet Revenge

Richard bent down and picked up the fallen document. He glanced at the results, which clearly stated a 99.9% probability of paternity. Thomas was indeed the biological father of the baby boy. All of Thomas's accusations, his cruelty, and his paranoia had been built on nothing but his own toxic insecurity and his mother's malicious lies.Thomas fell to his knees, staring at the floor.

"Jessica, I... I was just stressed," Thomas stammered, his voice cracking as he tried to reach for her hand. "The business was failing, and my mother told me... please, we can work this out. I love our son."

Jessica pulled her hand away, holding her baby closer to her chest.

"It is too late for that, Thomas," she said, her voice steady and filled with a newfound strength. "You showed me who you really are today. You will never lay a finger on my son again."

Richard stepped forward, pulling a second set of documents from his navy suit pocket and tossing them onto the bed next to Thomas.

"You wanted five million dollars to walk away?" Richard asked, a cold smile playing on his lips. "Well, I spent ten million this morning buying out the debt of your failing investment firm. I am now your primary creditor. You are officially bankrupt, Thomas. If you ever try to contact Jessica or my grandson again, I will personally ensure you spend the rest of your life in court."

Thomas stared at the papers in horror. In his greed to destroy Jessica, he had completely ruined himself. Realizing he had lost everything, he slowly stood up and slunk out of the hospital room, defeated and utterly broke.

Jessica looked up at the father she hadn't seen in fifteen years. Tears of relief flowed down her cheeks as Richard sat beside her, gently kissing her forehead and holding his grandson's tiny hand. They had a long road of healing ahead, but for the first time, Jessica knew they were going to be safe.

True family isn't about blood or money—it is about the unconditional love and protection we provide when the world turns cold.
