David’s face drained of color, but he quickly forced a scoff, stepping forward to grab Sarah’s arm. "This is ridiculous! She's a child, Sarah, she's hallucinating from the medication. Sarah stared at her husband in utter disbelief. David gasped, taking a step back. "What? On what grounds? You can't trust the word of a drugged child!"

"We don't have to," Officer Miller replied calmly. "Our precinct just received the smart doorbell footage from your neighbor across the street. It clearly shows you carrying a large, heavy black bag out of your house at four in the morning, handing it to Clara, and watching her place it in your recycling bin."

David collapsed into a chair, his face pale and defeated, as Officer Miller read him his rights and led him away in handcuffs. Outside, Clara was already being detained by waiting patrol cars.
