Previously: When Clara's husband lured her to her late grandfather's gothic mansion, she expected a romantic evening. Instead, the doors slammed shut, trapping her in a dark, terrifying game of greed and survival.

The Bloodline's Secret

Panic clawed at Clara's throat as she frantically clawed at the locked doors. "Julian! This isn't funny! Open the door!" she screamed, her voice cracking with terror. Her only answer was the ominous creak of the swaying crystal chandelier above. Suddenly, a high-pitched whine cut through the silence. An old intercom system mounted on the wall crackled to life.

"Don't waste your energy, Clara," Julian's voice echoed through the speaker, cold and entirely detached. "The doors are reinforced. You're not going anywhere."

Clara staggered backward, shaking her head in disbelief. Julian explained his clinical, ruthless plan. The multi-million dollar Blackwood trust was legally hers, but if she met an untimely end, the entire fortune would default to him. He told her she would find the transfer documents in the library. If she signed them, he claimed he would let her go. If not, she would slowly starve in the freezing, isolated mansion.

Determined to find another way out, Clara navigated the dark hallways, guided only by the flashlight on her phone. She reached the library, a massive room lined with thousands of decaying books. On the central desk lay the legal documents, waiting for her signature. But as she approached, her flashlight beam caught a small, partially open drawer. Inside lay a leather-bound journal belonging to her late grandfather.

With trembling hands, Clara opened it. The entries revealed a horrifying truth: Julian hadn't planned this alone. He had been conspiring with Clara's estranged stepmother, Evelyn. The journal detailed how the two had slowly poisoned Clara's father to clear the path to the inheritance. Clara was the final obstacle. Suddenly, the heavy oak doors of the library creaked open. A beam of light cut through the darkness, and Evelyn stepped into the room, holding a heavy iron poker. "I knew you'd find the journal, Clara," Evelyn sneered, her eyes gleaming with malice. "But you won't live to tell anyone."
