A Jealous Sergeant Tried to Frame Me, But My Quick Reflexes Saved My Career
Previously: When Sergeant Clark tried to publicly humiliate Navy Lieutenant Heather with planted evidence, he thought he had won. He didn't realize she was three steps ahead of his petty game.
The Trap Backfires
Clark’s smug grin faltered for a fraction of a second when Heather mentioned the footage, but he quickly recovered his bravado. He looked up at the ceiling, scanning the corners of the minimalist barracks room. "There are no cameras in this wing, Lieutenant," he sneered, lowering his voice so only those closest could hear. "It’s your word against mine, and my squad will back me up. You’re done."
What Clark didn't know was that Heather had anticipated his escalating hostility. For the past week, she had documented every unauthorized entry into her quarters and every whispered rumor. She had already petitioned the base commander for a security upgrade, citing safety concerns in the shared facility. The work order had been fast-tracked, and a high-definition dome camera had been discreetly installed in the ceiling corner just that morning.

Before Clark could fully process the implication, the heavy barracks door opened once more. Captain Miller, the commanding officer of the joint task force, stepped into the room. The atmosphere instantly shifted to rigid discipline as everyone stood at attention.
"What is the meaning of this disruption?" Captain Miller demanded, his sharp gaze moving from the red undergarment in Clark's hand to Heather’s stern expression. "Explain yourselves."
Clark spoke up immediately, eager to control the narrative.
"Captain, Lieutenant Vance just physically assaulted me when I tried to return unauthorized personal items found in the common area. She struck my arm when I attempted to hand them to her. I have multiple witnesses who saw her initiate physical contact."
Captain Miller turned his stern gaze to Heather.
"Lieutenant Vance, what do you have to say for yourself?"
Heather stood tall, her eyes fixed forward.
"Captain, Sergeant Davis aggressively cornered me and shoved an item at me in a harassing manner. I executed a standard defensive block to prevent him from making physical contact with my person. Furthermore, I request that we immediately review the feed from the newly installed security camera in this sector."
