Previously: When a young maid is framed for a devastating mansion robbery, a wealthy heir risks everything to disrupt the trial and expose his own family's dark secrets.

A Calculated Trap

The judge banged his gavel repeatedly, demanding order in the court. Arthur tried to dismiss his son’s outburst, claiming Leo was suffering from a nervous breakdown. "Your Honor, my son is deeply unstable and has been hallucinating since his recent car accident," Arthur pleaded, trying to lead Leo out of the room. But the judge was not easily swayed. He ordered Leo to step forward and explain his accusations under oath.

As Leo approached the stand, his older brother, Julian, stood up from the back of the gallery. A cold, arrogant smile played on Julian’s lips. Instead of looking panicked, Julian walked down the center aisle, holding a small digital audio recorder. "If my little brother wants to talk about what he saw, perhaps the court should hear what he said to me last night," Julian announced smoothly.

The defense attorney objected, but the judge, curious and sensing a massive twist, allowed Julian to play the recording. A voice filled the courtroom—it was unmistakably Leo’s voice, clear and distinct.

"I took the necklace, Julian. I needed the money to pay off my debts, and I hid it in Clara's room because I knew nobody would believe her over me."

Leo stood frozen on the stand, his heart dropping into his stomach. It was an incredibly realistic deepfake. His father and brother had anticipated his betrayal and used advanced voice-cloning technology to frame him, knowing it would destroy his credibility forever. The courtroom erupted into chaos. Clara looked at Leo with sudden heartbreak, believing he had betrayed her. Arthur sneered at his son, confident that they had won. Leo was trapped in a web of his own family's making, with no way to prove his innocence.
