The autumn sun cast a warm, golden glow over the bustling city sidewalk, but Clara felt none of its warmth. Shivering in her torn grey sweater, she pulled the frayed edges tighter around herself. Her messy blonde hair fell in tangled waves over her smudged cheeks. To the busy passersby, she was invisible—just another broken soul lost in the concrete jungle. But Clara wasn't looking at them. Her eyes were locked onto the window of Aura Bridal, a high-end boutique that epitomized luxury and romance.

Inside the window stood a breathtaking white lace wedding gown, its intricate embroidery shimmering under the gallery lights. For a brief moment, the noise of the city faded. Clara stepped closer, her trembling fingers gently touching the cold glass. Memories, painful yet beautiful, flooded her mind. She could almost hear the faint echo of church bells and the laughter of a life she had lost. Tears welled in her eyes as she whispered in awe, "What a beautiful dress!"

The moment of peace was abruptly shattered. The heavy glass door of the boutique clicked open, and Victoria, the elegant manager dressed in a striking emerald green dress, stepped out onto the sidewalk. She crossed her arms, her face instantly hardening into a mask of disgust as she looked at Clara.

A Cold Confrontation

"Please leave. You are making our customers uncomfortable,"

Victoria said dismissively, her voice sharp and devoid of empathy. Inside, several wealthy customers paused to watch the scene, some of them whispering and laughing behind their manicured hands.

Clara shrank back, but she couldn't tear her eyes away from the gown.

"I just want to try on that dress,"
she pleaded softly, her voice cracking with a desperate yearning.

Victoria let out a mocking laugh, gesturing toward the snickering women inside.

"You?! Try on that dress?!"
she sneered.
"This gown costs more than you’ll see in a lifetime. Get off our property before I have you arrested."
