Within minutes, the hospital security team had escorted a silent Leo out of the ward. David was practically foaming at the mouth, demanding that the police be called immediately. Sarah sat in her wheelchair, weeping uncontrollably as the nurses checked on baby Toby. Fortunately, the infant's vitals were stable, but the terror of the moment hung heavily in the air.
"I told you he was sick, Sarah!" David hissed, pacing back and forth in the recovery room. "He bypassed security. He targeted our son. He belongs in a juvenile detention facility before he actually kills someone!"
Sarah wanted to defend the boy she had tried so hard to welcome into her life, but the memory of Leo's chilling half-smile haunted her. How could a child look so sinister while holding a helpless newborn?

David scoffed, crossing his arms. "The boy is a sociopath. He probably recorded his attempt to harm my son!"
"Actually, Mr. Miller, you should watch this," the officer replied coldly, pressing play on his tablet.
The screen showed a first-person view from Leo’s perspective. He had snuck into the NICU because he had noticed something suspicious from the hallway window earlier. The video showed David entering the nursery ten minutes before the incident, while the nurses were at shift change. On the footage, David reached into Toby's incubator, bypassed the oxygen flow valve, and deliberately dialed down the baby's oxygen supply. He then muted the secondary alarm on the monitor.
