My Mother-in-Law Tried to Stop Our Wheelchair Wedding With a Shocking Accusation
Previously: When Lauren and Justin tied the knot in their wheelchairs, they thought love had won. But a sudden interruption by Justin’s mother threatened to tear them apart forever.
The Shadow at the Altar
The celebratory cheers died instantly, replaced by a tense, suffocating silence. Striding down the aisle was Eleanor, Justin’s wealthy and formidable mother, flanked by two stern-looking men carrying leather briefcases. Eleanor had made no secret of her disdain for Lauren, calling her a gold-digger who was taking advantage of her son's vulnerability. She had threatened to cut Justin off from his multi-million dollar medical trust fund if he married her, but they had chosen love over luxury.
Now, Eleanor stood at the altar, her eyes flashing with venom.
"Stop this absurd farce right now!" she demanded, her voice echoing off the high stone walls.Justin steered his wheelchair slightly ahead of Lauren’s, his jaw clenched. "Mother, we are married. Leave now before I have you escorted out."

Eleanor let out a sharp, mocking laugh. "Oh, you won't want to escort me out once you hear what I have to say. Your precious bride has been lying to you since the day you met." She snapped her fingers, and one of her lawyers handed her a thick manila folder. She pulled out a stamped document and held it up like a trophy.
She turned her gaze directly to Lauren.
"Five years ago, a reckless driver ran a red light and caused the crash that put you in that chair. But did you ever tell my son who was behind the wheel of the other car? It was your father, Lauren. Your father is the reason my son will never walk again. You targeted Justin out of guilt, trying to buy your family's forgiveness with his fortune!"
Lauren gasped, the color draining from her face. She looked at Justin, her eyes wide with terror and confusion. "Justin, I swear, I didn't know... I had no idea," she whispered, her voice trembling as tears spilled over her cheeks.
