My Cousin Mocked My Husband’s Cheap Suit, Until Her Billionaire Groom Bowed to Him
The sun shone brilliantly over the manicured lawns of the Whispering Pines estate, where my cousin Victoria’s wedding was underway. It was a lavish affair, decorated with thousands of imported white tulips and attended by the city’s elite. I felt incredibly out of place in my simple off-the-rack dress, holding onto my husband Arthur’s arm. Arthur was a quiet, unassuming man who wore a plain charcoal suit. To me, he was just a dedicated logistics manager who loved making me coffee in the mornings. To my family, he was a nobody.
Victoria spotted us from across the garden. Clad in a designer gown and a breathtaking, heavy diamond necklace, she glided over with a smug, triumphant smile. She had spent her entire life trying to outshine me, and today was her ultimate victory.

"So, this is your husband?" Victoria boasted, her voice dripping with condescension. She gestured to Arthur’s unbranded watch and simple suit. "My husband is the richest man in this city. I suppose someone has to settle for average."
I felt my cheeks burn with embarrassment, but Arthur remained perfectly calm. He adjusted his cufflinks, a faint, unreadable smile playing on his lips.
Just then, her groom, Charles, walked over. He looked sharp in his custom tuxedo, but the moment his eyes landed on Arthur, his entire demeanor shattered. The color drained from his face, and beads of sweat instantly broke out on his forehead.
Before Victoria could introduce him, Charles took a step forward, his knees trembling. In front of the stunned guests, he bowed deeply to my husband.
"Welcome, esteemed boss," Charles said, his voice shaking. "We have been waiting a long time for your arrival."
Victoria’s jaw dropped in absolute shock. The silence in the garden was deafening.
