My Cruel Fiance Tried To Humiliate Me But My Secret Identity Saved Me Just In Time
Previously: When Lieutenant David ordered his men to shave my head to break my spirit, he thought I was just an ordinary private. He had no idea who my father really was.
The General's Daughter
Stepping out from the shadow of an armored transport vehicle was General Marcus Vance, the supreme commander of the entire division. He marched toward us with absolute fury in his stride, his boots clicking sharply against the hot concrete. To the rest of the base, he was a legendary, iron-fisted leader who demanded absolute obedience. To me, he was simply Dad. I had enlisted under my mother’s maiden name, Clara Miller, precisely to avoid his shadow, wanting to prove my worth on my own merit. Now, my secret was out.
David scrambled to salute, his face draining of color as the General stopped just inches from him. The atmosphere grew heavy, the searing afternoon heat suddenly feeling ice-cold.

"General Vance, sir!" David stammered, his voice cracking. "This private was guilty of severe insubordination and theft. We were simply administering a standard disciplinary measure to maintain order."
My father looked at my bound hands, the electric clippers, and the light-brown hair scattered on the dusty ground. His eyes burned with a cold, terrifying rage that I had rarely seen in my life.
"Who gave you the authority to bypass a military tribunal and abuse a soldier?" my father growled, his voice vibrating with danger.
David tried to play the victim, claiming I had threatened his career and stolen confidential logistics files to sabotage the unit. But I didn't let him spin his lies any further.
"He's embezzling base supplies, Dad," I spoke up, my voice ringing clear across the yard. "I found his black-market ledger, and that's why he's trying to destroy me."
The word 'Dad' hit David like a physical blow. His jaw dropped, his eyes darting between me and the General in absolute horror. The two soldiers holding me immediately released my arms and backed away, saluting with shaking hands. My father ordered his personal guards to arrest David on the spot. But David, realizing his career and life were over, snapped. In a desperate, frantic motion, he grabbed the heavy metal clippers and lunged forward, grabbing me by the neck and pressing the sharp blade against my throat as a human shield.
"Stay back!" David screamed, his eyes wild with panic. "Order them to drop their weapons, General, or I'll cut her throat!"
