My Cruel Husband Raised His Hand Against Me, But a Powerful Billionaire Intervened
The Nightmare in the Mansion
The grandfather clock in the corner of the grand living room ticked with agonizing slowness. Inside the lavish mansion of the Sterling family, the air was thick with tension. Sarah sat cowering in a classic armchair, her hands desperately shielding her pregnant stomach. She wore a light blue silk dress, now wrinkled and damp with her tears. Standing over her was Thomas, her husband, a man whose charm had completely dissolved into a terrifying, erratic rage.
"You are nothing without me!" Thomas roared, his voice bouncing off the high, gilded ceilings. In his hand, he gripped a heavy leather whip, his knuckles white. Sarah whimpered, looking past him toward Victoria, Thomas’s older sister. Victoria stood elegantly in a wine-red gown, a glass of expensive Merlot in her hand. Her dark eyes were devoid of any warmth. She watched the unfolding violence with a cold, detached amusement, taking a slow sip of her wine as if watching a theatrical play.

Before Sarah could plead, Thomas brought the whip down. A sharp, searing pain tore through Sarah’s side. She cried out in agony, collapsing sideways in the chair as a dark blood stain began to spread across the delicate blue silk of her dress. Clutching her abdomen, she closed her eyes and whispered a desperate prayer to her unborn child: "Hold on, my love. Just hold on."
Thomas raised the whip once more, his face twisted in a manic grin. But before the leather could strike her skin again, the heavy oak double doors of the living room burst open with a deafening crash. A tall, distinguished older man in a dark grey suit strode into the room. He was flanked by four massive, stern-faced bodyguards.
"Lower your hand, Thomas," the older man commanded, his voice carrying the immense weight of absolute authority.
Thomas froze, startled. The whip hovered in the air for a tense second before he slowly, reluctantly lowered it, his eyes widening in shock at the powerful figure standing before him.
