My Ex Framed Me and Stole My K9s—But the Dogs Remembered Their Real Alpha
Previously: When Megan's corrupt ex-fiancé framed her to steal her elite K9 unit, he thought he had won. But when they met on the wet tarmac, the dogs made a shocking choice.
Justice and Loyalty
David’s face drained of all color as he stared at the financial records in Captain Miller’s hands. He tried to stammer out an excuse, claiming Megan had fabricated the documents, but the evidence was ironclad. Megan had spent the last three months working alongside an internal affairs investigator who had been quietly tracking the missing academy funds. The trap David had set for Megan had ultimately sprung on himself.
"Hand over your badge and your weapon, David," Captain Miller commanded, his voice cold as ice. "You are under arrest for embezzlement, fraud, and filing false police reports."
As the other officers stepped forward to handcuff a weeping David, the K9s stood perfectly still, watching their former abuser get led away in disgrace. The justice was poetic and absolute. Captain Miller turned to Megan, a look of profound regret on his face as he offered his hand.

"Megan, the department owes you a massive apology. We were blind to his lies," the Captain said softly. "We want you back. The K9 program needs you."
Megan looked at the Captain, then down at Zeus, Shadow, Thor, and Bella, who were looking up at her with pure, unconditional love. She realized she didn't need the academy's badge to do what she loved. She had her pack, her freedom, and a clean name.
"Thank you, Captain, but my time here is done," Megan replied with a gentle smile. "But I will be taking my dogs with me. We're starting our own private search-and-rescue agency."
With the legal ownership papers verified, Megan walked out of the academy gates, the four magnificent German Shepherds trotting proudly by her side. She had lost her job, her fiancé, and her reputation, but through it all, she had kept her integrity. And in the end, her most loyal companions had shown the world that true leadership is built on trust and love, not fear and control.
