My Ex-Wife Claimed She Lost Our Twins, But a Nurse's Call Changed My Life
Previously: When David’s ex-wife told him their pregnancy was over, he was devastated. But months later, a desperate call from a neonatal nurse revealed a shocking truth that sent him racing to the hospital.
The fragile peace of the moment was violently shattered when the heavy double doors at the end of the neonatal ward swung open. David’s heart dropped as Eleanor, his former mother-in-law, marched into the hallway. She was flanked by two men in impeccable dark suits, their expressions cold and calculated.
Eleanor stopped dead in her tracks when she saw David holding the infants. Her face contorted with a mixture of shock and sheer venom.

"What are you doing here?" Eleanor hissed, her voice low but sharp enough to cut. "Get your hands off those children. You have absolutely no right to be in this wing, let alone touching them."
One of the lawyers stepped forward, unzipping a leather briefcase and pulling out a thick sheaf of legal documents.
"Mr. Miller, your ex-wife has legally surrendered her parental rights," the lawyer stated flatly. "These children are currently under the temporary ward of the state pending an expedited private adoption. You are not listed on the birth certificates. If you do not hand them over immediately, we will have hospital security and the police remove you for trespassing and attempted kidnapping."
David backed away slowly, his arms tightening protectively around his daughters. The twin girls stirred slightly, letting out soft whimpers that tore at his heart. He felt cornered, his mind racing for a way out. He was a simple working man up against a family with millions of dollars and endless legal resources.
"They are my daughters," David said, his voice shaking but filled with iron resolve. "You lied to me. Chloe lied to me. You tried to erase me so you could sell my babies to the highest bidder. I won't let you do this."
Eleanor took a step closer, a cruel, mocking smile on her lips. She whispered so the staff wouldn't hear.
"You can't afford to fight us, David. By tomorrow morning, these girls will be on a private plane to their new home. You're a nobody. Don't ruin your life over a battle you've already lost."
”Don't ruin your life over a battle you've already lost."
