The dining room of the Sterling estate was a monument to old money and older secrets. Beneath the glittering light of a massive crystal chandelier, the family sat in frozen silence. Arthur Sterling, his tall frame clad in an immaculate charcoal wool suit, stood at the head of the mahogany table, his face twisted in a mask of fury. He pointed a trembling, accusatory finger at his eldest daughter, Natalie.

"Get out of here! And resign as CEO!" Arthur bellowed, his voice echoing off the high, gilded ceilings.

Natalie stood her ground. She wore a simple white cotton shirt and a black pencil skirt—the armor of a woman who had spent her entire adult life running a multi-billion-dollar empire. Slowly, she raised her hand and touched her bottom lip. A small cut, delivered by Arthur's hand in his private study only moments prior, was still warm with blood. Instead of flinching or crying, Natalie’s lips parted into a cold, triumphant smile.

She took a deliberate step toward her father. The silence in the room was suffocating. Her sisters, Victoria and Claire, watched from their seats, their faces pale with shock. They had spent their lives bowing to Arthur’s tyrannical rule, and they could not comprehend Natalie's defiance.Natalie pulled out her phone, holding it up like a weapon.

"Dad... did you forget?" she asked, her voice dangerously quiet.

Without waiting for an answer, she dialed a number and put it on speaker. "Evelyn, activate the board's emergency protocol."

Victoria gasped, jumping to her feet.

"Natalie, what are you doing?" she shrieked.

Natalie didn’t offer an explanation. She turned on her heel and walked out through the grand glass doors into the cool night air, leaving her father to face the storm she had just unleashed.
