The dining room of the Vance estate was designed to project absolute power. Beneath a massive crystal chandelier that cast a sharp, icy glow over the mahogany table, the family gathered for what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner. Instead, it had descended into a corporate execution. Arthur Vance, the silver-haired patriarch of Vance Enterprises, stood at the head of the table. "Dad... did you forget?" she asked, her voice dangerously calm.

Before Arthur could answer, Natalie raised her phone and spoke clearly into the receiver. "Evelyn, activate the board's emergency protocol."

Victoria gasped, jumping to her feet as the weight of those words registered. "Natalie, what are you doing?" she shrieked. But Natalie didn't bother to explain. She turned her back on her family, her heels clicking sharply against the marble floor as she walked out through the grand glass doors and into the night, leaving a stunned silence in her wake.
