Previously: When Callie discovers her father forged her mother's will to fund her sister's lavish wedding, she crashes the party in a green velvet gown to deliver the ultimate toast.

The Price of Secrets

Andrew grabbed Callie’s arm, his grip tight and desperate. He leaned in, his breath hot against her ear as he tried to maintain a hushed tone, though his voice shook with rage.

"You ungrateful, dramatic fool," Andrew hissed. "You are ruining your sister’s night. Get out of here before I have the guards drag you into the street like a common beggar."

Callie didn't flinch. She pulled her arm back with a slow, deliberate grace, looking down at his hand as if it were a stain on her green velvet gown. She looked past him to Bianca, whose eyes were wide with a mixture of fear and confusion. The guests had stopped whispering; they were openly staring now, some holding up their phones to capture the spectacular downfall of the city's most prominent family.

"Tell her, Andrew," Callie said, her voice rising so that it carried across the entire banquet suite. "Tell your precious Bianca where the money for her designer gown, her diamond ring, and this entire lavish party came from. Tell her about the trust fund Mother left for me."

Andrew yelled in frustration, his voice booming through the hall. "That money was mine to manage! You have no right to come here and make demands!"

Bianca stepped back, her face pale as she looked between the two. "Andrew... what is she talking about? You said Callie refused to come because she was jealous."

Callie laughed, a cold, humorless sound. She reached into her clutch and pulled out a stack of folded documents. "He lied to you, Bianca. Just like he lied to the courts. He forged Mother’s signature to empty my trust. But I found the original will today. And I found the ledger."

Andrew’s silver hair seemed to stand on end as his anger turned to sheer panic. He lunged for the papers, but Callie stepped back, keeping them just out of his reach. The tension in the room was suffocating.
