My Greedy Stepson Left Me to Drown at Sea but I Survived for Revenge
Previously: When wealthy widow Edith was pushed from her yacht, her stepson and his wife left her to drown. They thought she was gone forever—until she showed up at her own funeral.
The Ghost of the Silver Star
The drawing-room of the estate was filled with solemn-faced associates, but the atmosphere among the inner circle was secretly celebratory. Robert and Claire sat at the mahogany table, trying to hide their eagerness as the family lawyer prepared to read the old will. Robert held a glass of champagne, whispering to Claire about the properties they would soon sell.
Suddenly, the heavy double doors of the room swung open. The room fell dead silent. Dressed in a striking black gown, her silver-white hair perfectly styled, Edith walked in. She looked vibrant, powerful, and very much alive.

Claire’s champagne glass slipped from her hand, shattering on the marble floor. Robert scrambled backward in his chair, his face turning an ashen gray.
"E-Edith?" Robert stammered, trembling. "But... you drowned! It was an accident!"
"I survived, Robert," Edith said, her voice echoing through the silent room. "And it was no accident. You watched me fall, and you left me to die."
Before they could deny it, Edith signaled the lawyer, who projected a video onto the wall. The yacht’s automated security cameras had recorded the entire incident, capturing Robert and Claire watching her struggle in the water without throwing the life ring. Two police officers stepped out from the hallway, handcuffs ready. Robert and Claire were led away in tears, facing charges of attempted murder.
Edith sat at the head of the table, picked up the pen, and signed the new will, leaving her entire fortune to those who truly deserved it. In the end, greed had sunk her betrayers, while her own resilience had kept her afloat. True wealth is not measured by the millions in a bank account, but by the integrity of one's soul.
