My Groom Ran Away With My Best Friend, But My Wedding Coordinator Saved My Heart
Previously: When Sarah was abandoned on her wedding day, she threw a 'freedom party' instead. But a dramatic confrontation with her ex-fiancé revealed a shocking secret—and an unexpected hero.
The Intruder at the Gates
Our laughter was abruptly cut short by the harsh screech of tires. A black sports car swerved onto the cobblestone path, stopping just inches from the chapel gates. My breath hitched in my throat as the door flew open and Mark stepped out. In the passenger seat, Chloe sat with her head down, refusing to meet my gaze. Mark marched toward us, his face flushed with anger, completely ignoring the shocked gasps of my family members gathered on the chapel steps.
He didn't look remorseful. He looked furious.

"Are you serious, Sarah?" Mark sneered, pointing a finger at my navy gown. "You're using my money to throw a party after what happened?"
"This party was paid for entirely by my family, Mark," I replied, my voice trembling but holding its ground. "You haven't contributed a single dime. Get out of here."
Mark stepped closer, his aggressive posture making my bridesmaids shrink back. His eyes locked onto my left hand, where my grandmother’s vintage diamond ring still sat on my finger. "Give me the ring," he demanded, reaching out to grab my hand. "It's a family heirloom, and you have no right to keep it. I need to sell it to settle some business debts."
Before his hand could make contact with mine, Ethan stepped forward, physically placing his tall frame between Mark and me. The coordinator's gentle demeanor vanished, replaced by an icy, protective authority.
"I'm going to have to ask you to step back and leave the premises immediately, sir," Ethan said, his voice low and dangerous.
Mark laughed mockingly, shoving Ethan hard in the chest. "And who the hell are you? The help? Mind your own business before I make you." Ethan didn't budge an inch, his fists clenching at his sides as he stood his ground to protect me. Mark pulled a folded document from his pocket and waved it in my face. "If you don't give me that ring right now, I'm calling the police. I have the registration papers for this diamond, and I'll have you arrested for grand theft!"
