My Groom Ruined My White Dress, but a Smirking Cowboy Changed My Entire Life
Previously: When Lauren's dream wedding turned into a muddy nightmare thanks to her groom's cruel prank, she thought all was lost—until a rugged cowboy standing by the columns offered her a completely different path.
A New Beginning
Brody didn't ask questions. He slammed his foot on the gas, the truck roaring to life as we sped back toward the palace. When we burst back through the grand double doors, the atmosphere was tense. My father was standing at a table, a pen in his hand, about to sign the business merger contract that Tyler's family had insisted upon as a "wedding gift" to secure our families' futures. Tyler and his father were hovering over him like vultures.
"Dad, stop!" I yelled, my voice ringing through the marble hall.

Everyone turned. Tyler gasped when he saw me wearing Brody's oversized flannel shirt, my hair messy, flanked by the rugged cowboy. "Lauren, you ruined our wedding and now you show up looking like a stray?" Tyler sneered. "Sign the paper, Arthur. Let's just get this over with."
"Don't sign anything, Dad," I said, walking straight to the table. I held up my phone, displaying the photo of Tyler and Sarah, along with the text detailing their financial plot.
My father stared at the screen, his face turning pale, then flushing with absolute fury. He slowly put the pen down and ripped the contract in half. "Get out," my father whispered, his voice trembling with rage. "Get out of my sight before I call the police."
Tyler tried to protest, but Brody stepped forward, his imposing frame making it clear that there would be no further arguments. Dejected and exposed, Tyler and his family slunk out of the hall, followed by a weeping Sarah. My father walked over and pulled me into a tight hug.
Months later, I finally wore a beautiful white dress again—but this time, it was a simple sundress, and the wedding was in a sunny pasture. As Brody took my hand under the open sky, I realized that sometimes, you have to let your old life get dragged through the mud to find the path you were always meant to walk.
