The lawyer, Joseph, walked down the center aisle with a calm, commanding presence. The whispers of the guests turned into a tense, nervous hum. Joshua's face drained of color as Joseph approached the head table.

"Rachel, what is the meaning of this?"

Joshua hissed, his voice trembling.

"This is our wedding! Who is this man?"

"This is Joseph Vance, my legal counsel,"

I replied, my voice steady and cold.

"And this wedding is officially over."

Margaret tried to step in, her face red with fury.

"You ungrateful little girl! You think you can make a scene at our family's event? We made you! We can destroy you!"

she threatened, pointing a manicured finger at me.

Joseph smiled thinly and opened his briefcase, pulling out a thick stack of legal documents.

"Actually, Mrs. Sterling, it is quite the opposite,"

Joseph said, handing the papers to Joshua.

"Two days ago, my client discovered that the land your flagship luxury estate sits on was never legally acquired by your family's firm. In fact, through her late grandfather's estate, Rachel is the sole legal owner of that property."

Joshua grabbed the papers, his hands shaking violently as he scanned the deeds and court filings.

"This... this is impossible,"

he stammered.

"We've owned this land for decades!"

"Your father leased it with an option to buy that expired five years ago,"

I explained, looking him dead in the eye.

"Your company has been operating illegally, and you knew it. You forged the renewal documents, Joshua. I found the original lease in your desk."

Margaret gasped, looking at her son for a denial, but Joshua's silence spoke volumes. The crowd began to murmur in shock as they realized the Sterling empire was built on a massive fraud.
