After security escorted a screaming Ashley out of the building, Dr. Robert immediately knelt to tend to Evelyn. The elderly woman was bruised and trembling violently. As Robert checked her vitals, she clutched his sleeve, her voice a fragile whisper.

"Richard... he found me. He sent her,"

she whimpered. Evelyn was a wealthy widow, and Richard was her estranged son who had been written out of her will years ago due to his history of fraud.

Intrigued and deeply concerned, Robert spent the evening digging into Ashley’s employment records. What he uncovered was deeply disturbing. Ashley had legally changed her last name two years ago after marrying a man named Richard. It wasn't a coincidence; Ashley was Evelyn’s daughter-in-law. She had specifically requested a transfer to Evelyn’s ward just three days prior to the incident, aiming to terrorize the elderly woman into signing over her multi-million dollar estate.

The next morning, Robert rushed to Evelyn’s room, only to find her bed stripped. The receptionist claimed Evelyn had signed her own discharge papers and left with her family. Knowing Evelyn’s severe arthritis made it impossible for her to sign documents, Robert checked the security cameras. His heart sank as the footage showed Ashley and a tall man in a dark suit dragging a terrified Evelyn toward a black SUV.

Fortunately, Robert had slipped a small hospital asset-tracking tag into Evelyn’s medical folder. Pulling up the tracking app on his phone, he located the signal at an abandoned warehouse on the edge of town. He drove there immediately, creeping up to a dusty window. Inside, Evelyn was tied to a chair under a harsh bulb. Richard was forcing a pen into her hand while Ashley sneered. Robert kicked the heavy side door open, but Richard stepped out of the shadows, wielding an iron pipe.
