The Outcast Boy Who Pulled the Sacred Blade and Faced a King's Wrath
Previously: When the kingdom's mightiest warrior failed to draw the legendary sword from the stone, a lowly, soot-stained orphan stepped forward to claim his true destiny.
The King of the Ashes
The King stepped forward, his golden sword pointed at Arthur’s throat. "Give me the blade, boy, and I might let you live as a slave," Raymond sneered, his eyes cold and lifeless. Arthur looked down at his bleeding mentor, then back at the corrupt ruler. He realized then that the sword had not chosen him for his strength, but for his heart. He closed his eyes, tapping into the ancient power flowing through the hilt.
Instead of striking, Arthur drove the legendary blade deep into the earth. Instantly, a massive shockwave rippled through the canyon floor. The ground trembled, and a blinding wave of pure, white energy surged outward. The weapons of the surrounding knights flew from their hands, magnetically pulled to the stone ground, while the King’s golden sword shattered into a thousand useless pieces. The sheer force of the magic forced Lord Raymond and Borin to their knees, gasping for air.

Arthur stood tall, the glowing blade held high, but there was no anger in his eyes. He walked past the terrified King and knelt beside his fallen mentor. Placing his hand over the old man's wound, he channeled the sword’s warm, golden light. To the crowd's amazement, the deep gash sealed itself, and the blacksmith gasped, opening his eyes with renewed life.
The knights, witnessing this miracle, realized who the true king was. One by one, they bowed their heads, not out of fear, but out of genuine respect. Lord Raymond, stripped of his power and his dignity, was escorted away in chains by his own men. Arthur turned to the people of the valley, ready to rebuild a kingdom of justice from the ashes of tyranny.
True leadership is not born from iron and blood, but from a heart willing to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
