The Cynical Millionaire

The Obsidian was the kind of restaurant where wealth didn't just speak; it whispered in the rustle of silk and the clink of crystal. At the corner table sat Charles, a man whose tailored charcoal wool suit could not mask the cold reality of the wheelchair beneath him. For ten years, since the devastating crash that paralyzed him from the waist down, Charles had ruled his real estate empire with bitter efficiency. He had money, power, and a heart that had slowly turned to stone.

As he sipped his scotch, a shadow fell across his table. Charles looked up, expecting an apologetic manager, but instead found himself staring at a young boy. The child couldn't have been more than twelve, wearing a threadbare brown sweater and boots caked with dried mud. He looked entirely out of place in the opulent dining room.

"What do you want, boy?" Charles asked, his voice dripping with skepticism.

The boy didn't flinch. He looked at Charles with eyes that possessed a calm, ancient certainty. Pointing directly at Charles's useless legs, he spoke with quiet earnestness.

"Sir, can I heal your legs?"

Charles let out a harsh, mocking laugh that drew the attention of nearby diners. "You?" he scoffed, gesturing to the boy's ragged appearance. "If you make me walk, I'll give you a million dollars."

Instead of backing away, the boy stepped closer and placed his hands firmly on Charles's knees. Charles felt a surge of annoyance, preparing to call security. "This is ridiculous," he muttered.

The boy looked up, his gaze locking onto Charles's. "Trust me," he said. Suddenly, a violent jolt of warmth surged through Charles's legs, forcing a sharp gasp from his throat.
