My Pregnant Dream Ended When His Secret Wife Crashed Our Cabin Getaway
The Intrusion
The crackling of the fireplace was the only sound inside the luxurious lakeside log cabin, a warm sanctuary against the biting winter storm raging outside the massive glass doors. Elena smoothed down her soft, knitted tan dress, her hand lingering on the prominent curve of her seven-month pregnant belly. Across the dining table, Mark looked absolutely striking in his dark charcoal suit. He smiled warmly, raising a glass of sparkling cider to toast to their future. For Elena, this weekend was supposed to be a peaceful celebration of the miracle life they were about to bring into the world. She believed she was the luckiest woman alive, cherished by a man who had promised her the world.
That illusion shattered in a single, violent second. The heavy oak front door was suddenly thrown open, slamming against the wall as a freezing gust of wind and snow swept into the room. Standing in the doorway was a woman breathing heavily, her short black bob disheveled and her eyes wild with fury. She wore a navy blue cocktail dress, completely inappropriate for the freezing weather, yet she didn't seem to feel the cold. Her gaze locked onto Elena, and before anyone could speak, she lunged aggressively across the room.

"Get her away from me!" Elena shrieked, shrinking back against the glass doors, her arms wrapping protectively around her stomach.
Mark reacted with desperate speed, throwing his body between them and catching the woman by her arms. A chaotic, desperate struggle ensued as the woman clawed and thrashed, trying to reach Elena. The cabin echoed with the sounds of scraping chairs and shattered glasses.
"Sarah, stop, she's pregnant!" Mark yelled, his face pale and sweating as he struggled to restrain her.
"He is my husband!" Sarah screamed back, her voice raw with a mixture of agony and hatred.
The words hung in the warm air of the cabin like blocks of ice. Elena felt her breath catch in her throat, the world around her tilting as she stared at the man she loved, waiting for him to deny the horrifying accusation.
