"You think you're tough, little girl?" Brody growled. "I've broken men three times your size in this yard. You won't survive the night."

The giant froze. The color drained from his face, and his massive hands began to tremble. Thomas Vance was the warden's brother, a man who had tried to expose the corruption running rampant through Blackwood before he mysteriously vanished. Brody looked at her with sudden, raw panic in his eyes.
"How do you know that name?" Brody demanded, his bravado completely shattered.
Before Maya could answer, the heavy steel doors leading to the administrative wing hissed open. Warden Marcus Vance himself stepped into the yard, flanked by six heavily armed tactical guards.
