Richard stepped forward, gesturing to the two men.

"Take her,"

he ordered coldly.

"We’re ending this hazard tonight."

As the men approached with their metal poles, Maya woke up, instantly sensing the hostility. She began to growl, her body trembling with fear. But Leo stood up, placing himself directly between the men and the dog.

"Stop right there,"

"She doesn't hate you. She’s been waiting for you to hold her, just like you’ve been wanting to hold Toby. Don't let them take her."
