A Ruthless Executive Shoved a Homeless Veteran—Then a Powerful General Stepped Out
Previously: When a corrupt corporate executive tried to steal a decorated veteran's pension and threw his war medal into the dirt, he had no idea a powerful military general was watching.
Thomas froze, his smug smile instantly vanishing as he looked at the high-ranking officer standing before him. The sheer authority radiating from General Vance was suffocating. Thomas tried to puff out his chest, adjusting his expensive tie.
"Do you know who I am?"Thomas stammered, trying to regain his footing.
"I represent the largest development firm in this state. I have city council members and the chief of police on speed dial. You can't interfere with my business."
The Tables Turn
General Vance didn't flinch. Instead, a cold, dangerous smile spread across his face. He stepped closer, his decorated chest nearly pressing against Thomas's expensive suit.
"I don't care if you own the entire city,"the General whispered, his voice carrying a deadly edge.
"You are standing on public ground, abusing a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Army. This man is a decorated hero."

Thomas scoffed, looking at Arthur’s faded jacket.
"A hero? He’s a vagrant blocking my construction site!"
"That 'vagrant' saved my life in Fallujah,"Vance barked, his voice echoing down the street, stopping pedestrians in their tracks.
"He dragged me out of a burning vehicle under heavy enemy fire while bleeding from a shrapnel wound. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be standing here today. And you just threw his honor into the dirt."
As Vance spoke, several armed federal marshals stepped out of the black SUVs, forming a tight perimeter around Thomas. The arrogant developer looked around frantically, his face draining of color. He realized he wasn't dealing with local police he could easily bribe. The General pulled out a secure folder.
"We've been auditing your firm's federal development grants,"Vance said.
"We found the pension funds you embezzled from veterans' accounts to fund your luxury high-rise. Your empire is over."
