Previously: When Arthur decides to cast his own daughter out of the family empire to favor his golden child, he doesn't realize she holds the keys to his absolute ruin.

The Corporate Trap

The emergency protocol Natalie had triggered was a mechanism designed to freeze all executive powers in the event of a hostile takeover or severe internal dispute. It was a failsafe she had quietly established years ago, knowing her father's volatile nature. But as she drove through the rainy night, Natalie knew Arthur wouldn't go down without a fight. He was a man who viewed his children as chess pieces, and he was not about to let his queen checkmate him.

The next morning, Natalie arrived at the Vance Enterprises headquarters, expecting to find the board in an emergency session. Instead, she was met by a wall of private security guards in the lobby. Standing near the elevators was Claire, holding a thick manila envelope.

"He found a loophole, Natalie," Claire whispered, her eyes wide with fear as she handed over the envelope. "Dad used an old clause in grandfather’s original trust. He’s frozen your shares and suspended the board's protocol."

Natalie opened the envelope. Inside was a formal termination letter, along with copies of financial statements that made her blood run cold. They were forged documents showing millions of dollars being funneled from the company’s charity foundation into an offshore account in Natalie's name. Arthur wasn't just firing her; he was setting her up to take the fall for his own multi-million dollar embezzlement scheme.

As the security guards escorted Natalie out of the building under the watchful eyes of her former employees, her phone rang. It was Evelyn, her loyal assistant, calling from a burner phone. "Natalie, your father just called a flash press conference for this afternoon. He’s going to present those forged documents to the media. The police are already preparing a warrant for your arrest."

Natalie stood on the wet sidewalk, the rain soaking her hair. She had less than two hours. She could run and try to prove her innocence from hiding, or she could walk straight into the lion's den and face her father head-on.
