A Ruthless Lawyer Stole My Pension, But My Old General Stepped In
The Sidewalk Confrontation
The morning sun beat down on the bustling city sidewalk, but for Louis, the warmth did nothing to ease the chill in his bones. At seventy-two, the weathered veteran had faced down enemies in distant jungles, but today, his enemy wore a tailored tan suit and a smug, condescending grin. His name was Raymond, a ruthless corporate lawyer who had spent the last three weeks trying to force Louis out of his modest brick home.
Louis clutched his old green military jacket tighter, his camo cap pulled low. In his pocket, his fingers brushed against his most prized possession: a solid gold challenge coin, a token of honor from his days of service. Suddenly, Raymond stepped directly into his path, blocking the sidewalk with a heavy clipboard in hand.

"You're wasting your time coming down here, old man," Raymond sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "The paperwork is filed. Your home belongs to us now."
Before Louis could answer, Raymond stepped forward and shoved him hard against the brick wall. The sudden impact rattled Louis's fragile frame, and the gold coin slipped from his grasp, hitting the concrete with a sharp ring before rolling away. It stopped right next to a polished black dress shoe.
Raymond didn't even look at the coin. He leaned in close, his eyes cold. "Your pension has disappeared, old man. Someone like you no longer needs documents."
Despite the humiliation, Louis didn't flinch. He looked past Raymond's shoulder, a calm, knowing smile touching his lips.
"Son, you'd better look toward the road," Louis said quietly.
Raymond scoffed, but his smirk vanished as a deep, synchronized rumble shook the street. Three massive, pitch-black SUVs pulled up to the curb. From the lead vehicle stepped General Sterling, an imposing figure in a decorated dark blue dress uniform. He looked down at the gold coin by his shoe, then glared at Raymond.
"Pick it up," the General commanded.
