A Ruthless Lawyer Stole My Pension, But My Old General Stepped In
Previously: When a corrupt lawyer shoves a veteran and steals his pension, he thinks he's won. But he didn't count on the veteran's powerful old commanding officer stepping in to deliver justice.
The Corporate Stronghold
Raymond’s face drained of all color. The clipboard trembled in his hands as he looked from the towering General to the armed security detail stepping out of the black SUVs. Slowly, humiliatingly, the smug lawyer bent down, picked up the gold coin, and handed it to General Sterling with shaking fingers. The General took it, wiped off the dust, and placed it back into Louis’s hand with a respectful nod.
"Are you alright, Sergeant?" General Sterling asked, his voice steady but filled with underlying fury.
"I am now, General," Louis replied, standing tall. "This man claims my pension is gone and my home is no longer mine."

The General turned his fierce gaze back to Raymond, who was trying to slip away. "You are coming with us," Sterling demanded. "We are going to see exactly who authorized this theft."
Minutes later, the convoy arrived at the towering glass headquarters of Vance Development. General Sterling, Louis, and a pair of military escorts marched into the lavish lobby, dragging a terrified Raymond with them. But they weren't met with fear. Waiting for them was Marcus Vance, the billionaire developer behind the city's gentrification project.
Vance stood with his hands in his pockets, a cold, arrogant smile on his face. He didn't look intimidated by the General's uniform at all.
"You have no jurisdiction here, General," Vance said smoothly, stepping forward. "And if you don't leave my building immediately, I will make sure your decorated career ends in disgrace today."
Before Sterling could respond, the lobby doors opened, and four federal agents in dark suits walked in. They bypassed Raymond and Vance entirely, walking straight toward General Sterling. The lead agent pulled out a badge.
"General Sterling, you are operating outside of your military authority on civilian soil," the agent said coldly. "We have orders to detain you."
Louis felt his heart sink. The corruption went far deeper than a greedy lawyer; it reached the very agencies meant to protect them.
