Previously: When Nicholas and Lauren placed a black casket at the altar, guests thought it was a sick joke—until a sudden sound from inside turned their wedding into a nightmare.

Inside lay a man, pale, disheveled, and gasping for breath, but very much alive. It was Arthur, Nicholas’s older brother who had supposedly run away to Europe fifteen years ago and severed all ties. He was clutching a thick manila envelope to his chest.

The Truth Set Free

As Nicholas and the groomsmen pulled Arthur out, helping him breathe the fresh forest air, the envelope fell open. Dozens of documents spilled onto the forest floor. They were bank statements and legal contracts showing that Eleanor had systematically forged Arthur’s signature to steal his portion of their late father's massive estate, subsequently staging his "disappearance" by paying off corrupt associates to keep him hidden in a private facility overseas.

Arthur had escaped, tracked Eleanor to the wedding, and planned to hide the evidence inside the prop casket to surprise her before the ceremony. However, one of Eleanor’s hired security guards had spotted him, knocked him unconscious, and locked him inside the casket, hoping to dispose of it after the wedding.

The ceremony was canceled, replaced by flashing blue lights as the police arrived. Eleanor was led away in handcuffs, her face a mask of bitter defeat.

It was a devastating day, but it was also the day Nicholas got his brother back. Two months later, in a quiet courthouse ceremony with no caskets, no secrets, and only Arthur as their witness, Nicholas and Lauren finally said their vows.

They learned that true love doesn't need grand, theatrical statements to survive; it only needs honesty, courage, and the willingness to face the darkest truths together.
